Why is Ninjutsu, the Art of the Ninja, Better Than Other Martial Arts?
Why, even after the initial "ninja craze" of the 1980's, when the art of ninjutsu became widely known in the Western-world, are the Ninja considered to be on top of the martial arts "food chain?" Why do even trained martial artists revere the Ninja as super martial artists, not to be messed with, and capable of single-handedly taking on any enemy?
Perhaps it has something to do with the way we are wired on a subconscious level. Perhaps the Ninja feeds some kind of need for a super-hero figure who can, in this case, swoop in from out of the darkness to save the day.
Each person has his or her own reasoning, but I think that, for practitioners of authentic Japanese Ninjutsu - as opposed to other martial arts programs being called "Ninja training" - ninjutsu is seen as best for several reasons. And the reason that these modern-day ninja have chosen this martial art id related directly to what they are looking for as a means to gain the confidence, power, and control to produce real results in the Today's turbulent world.
Why is Ninjutsu better than other martial arts? Perhaps it has something to so with the fact that ninjutsu...
Is Not Just A Martial Art!
The goal of ninjutsu is not to produce black belts. The goal of ninjutsu is to produce a "no-limits person." The art of the ninja is one of "completeness." This is not just about the training being holistic and allowing the practitioner to attain a sense of oneness of body, mind & spirit.
This completeness also refers to the make-up of the art of ninjutsu.
On a smaller scale, the Ninja focuses not on self-defense, but on self-protection. And, while those two terms may sound similar, they are actually quite different. As I define it for my students, "self-defense" is typically limited to the concepts and skills for protecting oneself against another human being who is trying to hurt you.
Self-protection, on the other hand, is much grander in scope. It involves, not only self-defense, but also the protection of the whole person from anything that might threat to harm you.
There are many more dangers, threats, and problems which face us in the world than just physical attacks from human assailants. Lessons from the art of ninjutsu teach us how to overcome the effects of stress, deception and manipulation, and even our own laziness and tendencies at self-sabotage.

Ninjutsu Training - Suggestions For Handling Stressful Situations From the Martial Art of Ninjutsu
One of the most common concerns that I hear from people - men and women - who have taken martial arts or self defense training is they doubt whether or not they'll actually be able to use what they've learned under pressure - during a real attack. And, unfortunately, because of something that I call, "The Karate-Myth," this is no surprise.
This article offers a few, very important, suggestions for handling stressful situations from the art of Ninjutsu - the system of self defense and Life Mastery developed by the ancient Ninja families of South-central Japan, and still used today as one of the most effective systems ever developed for the serious self defense student.
But, before I discuss some ways for effectively dealing with stressful and dangerous situations, I want to talk about something else. And, this something else is...
DENIAL!
Denial is the most dangerous impediment to most people developing the skills necessary to overcome stress, and to be able to successfully handle danger, whether physical, psychological, or emotional. Regardless of whether we're talking about protecting ourselves from a physical street attack, harassment on the job, or the emotional trauma that comes from the abuse from a significant other - people go through their days with one of two types of denial or ignorance.
The first is personal denial in that they believe that, "it will never happen to them." And the second is...
Denial of personal responsibility - they refuse to believe that they have any power to effectively neutralize the problem and make it go away! Before we ever begin to look at "what" we can do in a stressful or dangerous situation, we must first accept and operate based on 2 truths:
1) That it CAN happen to YOU (whatever "it" is), and...
2) You have the right, and can learn how to keep yourself safe from danger, attacks, and other stressful situations!
It is this "general awareness" stage that forms the foundation for any serious self protection strategy, and what determines whether or not you will be able to use or apply anything that you learn - whether from the typical self defense guy with a few "tricks" to show you, or a real world self defense expert who has actually "been there" where you are and has not just knowledge, but also the experience at being successful where it matters most.
Now that we've covered that, let's take a look at a few ways to deal with a situation. Please note that not all of these suggestions will work in every situation, nor will they work to the same degree. It is your responsibility to have more training than merely memorizing this list and thinking about this from the comfort of your chair, if you have any hope of being successful using this information against a real attacker who wants to beat, break, or kill you!
Here are a few options taken directly from the "8 Phases of Effective Self Defense" training model that I teach my students:
1) Learn to focus and be more aware of your surroundings. This "situational awareness" will allow you to notice possible warning signs and danger clues long before the danger ever gets close to you. The idea here is: if you want to be able to handle stressful situations effectively, then be able to notice them when they are still far away from you - before you feel the effects of stress and while you can still think calmly and clearly!
2) Develop multiple escape routes and strategies for getting out of a given situation or away from a dangerous threat before it can touch you. One that comes to mind that I see kids do almost instinctively is the old, "I've got to go to the bathroom" tactic. The idea here is: if you can't prevent danger from or stress happening, then have an escape plan for removing yourself from it. After all, if stress or danger can't touch you - it can't hurt you!
3) Learn methods and techniques for de-escalating a situation. Through the use of things like humor, distraction tactics, and even threats if you have the position, power, or authority to back it up, can all be effective in reducing and eliminating the possibility of the situation escalating to a more dangerous level. The idea here is: do, say, or communicate whatever you must, and an in a way that deters the cause of the danger from going further. If you can get the attacker to think about, or focus on something else instead of you - then you no longer have to deal with the problem!
Of course, if you cannot do these things, or you have not been successful in reducing or eliminating the threat, then you will have to handle the stress on a physical level. But, that's for a different lesson.

Live Ninjutsu Training Or Ninjutsu Videos?
Ninjutsu, the ancient martial art of the Ninjas, has always been mysterious to most people. There is talk that it never existed and is merely a figment of someone's wild imagination. Others claim it did exist and even continues to do so today. Some say it's real but that it did not exactly originate from the ancient times. All of these lead to the question, did Ninjas really exist? Were there really people who could be so fast and skilled that they could make themselves disappear without you noticing? Whatever truth there is behind the Ninjas, there's only one thing we can attest to - Ninjutsu is practiced in the 21st century.
If you're one of those who are seriously considering Ninjutsu training, you'll have three options. You can learn it with a private coach, by yourself through DVDs and other media, or you can combine the two.
If you want to have a private coach, you need to find someone who has good training, skills and coaching experience. It's one thing to be good in Ninjutsu and it's totally another to be good in teaching it to someone else. You can look online and hit a search on Ninjutsu trainers so you can start choosing which one could be the best for you. If you just don't trust those names you find on your search results, look for organizations, instead. Here, you're likely safer and surer in finding someone who is an authentic Ninjutusu expert.
On the other hand, if you simply don't have the time to devote to regular training with a coach, you can rely on books, ebooks, DVDs, or an online course. These will offer the same training that could be provided by a live coach, but you'll be dealing mostly with videos and other instructional materials.
Obviously, when you rely solely on home training using these resources, your knowledge and practice of the martial art will be limited. No matter how well-written the instructions or how perfectly executed the moves on the videos, nothing can substitute a live person teaching you. With a coach, you can ask questions and quell any doubts you may have, thus, making you more confident in what you do.
It's easy to think that having a live coach is the best way to learn. But then again, that could be so but only if you have all that time to devote to training and if you have enough budget for paying a coach. But if you go to the office everyday or don't have enough money to hire a trainer for a daily session, you can consider combining live and home training. You have someone to actually show you how to do the moves and you'll have something at home to remind you of those moves as you practice by yourself.

Ninjutsu Martial Arts Training and Fitness
weight problems are among the most common problems among people of all social classes and age groups. Child or adult, rich or poor, Western or Eastern Europe, obesity is increasingly seen as a health hazard and this has led to a growing public awareness about keeping fit and healthy. There are many different approaches for developing a healthier body and although the most basic formula, the traditional diet and exercise to maintain their efforts have been made to explore other aspects of life, may have beencontribute to weight loss or weight gain. Of course, fitness experts are starting from the mere physical fitness focus, to actually see more people develop the way of life and how that ultimately, the possibility of developing obesity or a tendency for them.
In general, a person now living as a technical and physical development of weight loss or simply training regimens for their clients. Factors such as smoking, occupation, family background and even romanticThe reports are now the total package of coaches who have worked well occur. Even in terms of movement and control of obesity, people are more adventurous and open to different strategies, including the martial arts.
A lot of people think that the spirit of the martial art meant only for the physical defense, but those who really know, he believes that, in fact, a comprehensive package of wellness for body, mind e. LawyersI believe that martial arts body is the best form of exercise, because as you work to strengthen the person at the same time, strengthening his resolve to continue the pursuit of health, in the absence of someone to coach HIM. In other words, art as an exercise and martial law on physical health. Also maintains and cares for a person a sense of discipline, so I can continue, not only with his exercise program, but with other tasks infulfill his life with a drive to excellence and always reach its full potential.

Ninjutsu Martial Arts Training - Don't Depend on Weapons for Self-Defense
This is based on something that I wrote in my "KUBOTAN: Self-Defense Keychain" ebook. And, although the discussion was aimed at the weapon that served as the focus of the book, in actuality, any weapon, modern or traditional, can be substituted.
Now, please don't confuse what I'm about to say with whether or not I use weapons. Weapons should be a part of any sound self-defense and martial arts program, training, and strategy. However, far too many people rely on a quick-fix. The Self-Defense Keychain book, in fact none of my books or videos were created to be a comprehensive training course in the use of any particular weapon. No single resource can be.
This is so for two very important reasons...
1. No weapon can take the place of a sound self-defense training program and plan - no matter how powerful you think it is, and...
2. Most weapons, especially those like the Kubotan, were designed to augment, or provide additional power and effectiveness, to unarmed self-defense techniques and tactics.
Do you have to be a trained martial artist to defend yourself with this or any other weapon?
No. Of course not.
Firearms are a good case-in-point. Knives are another. These two in particular have the potential of creating serious damage with relatively little to no formal training. But, remember...
...there is a huge difference between an effective self-defense strategy based on "knowing" what to do to increase your ability to escape with the least amount of wear-and-tear, and...
...the dependence on luck or the fact that you're carrying a self-defense weapon.
In the case of firearms, people brag and tout how many rounds the weapon can fire before reloading, but...
...you can't MISS often enough to win!
You can simply pick up a knife and start slashing and probably do okay. However...
...there are times during the year, at least in the temperate region where I live, that the clothing being worn by an attacker can make it difficult to cut him - even with a large knife. And...
...as we say in the self-defense world - "you can't bring a knife to a gun fight and expect to win!
The choice is yours...
...luck or strategic application of trained skills.
Both can be effective. However,...
...which one do you want to "bet your life on?"
And, in the long run...
...your weapon, regardless of whether it's a handgun, knife, or even a simple weapon like the Kubotan...
...is only as good as YOU are!
